Overview
A growing private equity fund is looking to hire a Director of Tax to lead all aspects of the firm’s tax function. This is a high-impact, standalone role reporting directly to the CFO, offering a rare opportunity to build and scale the tax infrastructure in a fast-paced investment environment. As the firm’s first in-house tax leader, you’ll be responsible for developing and overseeing tax strategy, compliance, structuring, and planning across the management company, funds, and portfolio investments.
Base pay range
$200,000.00 / yr - $270,000.00 / yr

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to expert on all tax matters across the firm
- Lead tax strategy and planning for new fund launches, transactions, and structuring
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance and reporting (funds, GP, management company)
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and service providers
- Monitor changes in tax legislation that impact fund and investment strategies
- Collaborate with deal and finance teams to evaluate tax implications of investment activity
- Build internal processes and controls to scale the tax function as the firm grows
Qualifications
10+ years of tax experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and private equity / alternative asset managementStrong technical expertise in partnership taxation and fund structuringExperience advising on both fund- and deal-level tax issuesExceptional communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionallySelf-starter mentality with an interest in building from the ground upSeniority level
