Key Responsibilities
Tax Strategy & Planning : Develop and implement proactive tax strategies that align with the company’s high-growth business objectives and minimize overall tax liability.Compliance & Reporting : Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all federal, state, local, and international tax returns, ensuring full compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.Tax Credits & Incentives : Lead the identification, documentation, and realization of all applicable tax credits and incentives. This includes, but is not limited to :Maximizing Research and Development (R&D) tax credits.Actively working with state and local government agencies (e.g., economic development offices, tax authorities) to identify and secure manufacturing incentives, grants, and other advantageous tax programs to support facility expansion and job creation.Negotiating and advocating for favorable tax treatment with government bodies.Provisioning & Accounting : Manage the quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, ensuring accurate reporting in the company’s financial statements.Audits & Controversy : Manage all tax authority examinations and inquiries, developing effective defense strategies and representing the company during federal and state audits.M&A Support : Provide tax expertise and support for potential future mergers, acquisitions, or financing activities, including due diligence and structuring recommendations.Risk Management : Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations across all jurisdictions, assessing their impact on the company, and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance and optimize planning.Process Improvement : Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and systems, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Team Collaboration : Collaborate closely with the finance, legal, operations, and engineering teams to ensure accurate data collection for tax purposes and to integrate tax planning into overall business operations.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's in Taxation or CPA certification is required.10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, preferably within a mix of public accounting (Big Four preferred) and industry roles within the high-tech or manufacturing sector.Deep, hands‑on experience identifying, documenting, and defending R&D tax credits and manufacturing incentives.Proven experience in negotiating or working with state and local government entities to secure tax advantages and economic incentives.Expert knowledge of US federal and state corporate tax laws and ASC 740 accounting for income taxes.Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills with the ability to manage complex projects in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into understandable insights for executive leadership and non‑financial stakeholders.Experience with ERP systems and tax compliance software.#J-18808-Ljbffr
