Job descriptionSupports the care of the patient and assesses and addresses the needs of the patient / family. Works collaboratively with other interprofessional team members in resolving patient / family problems, concerns and issues. Collaborates with other departments as needed to establish the patient / family treatment plan. Individualizes, implements, evaluates or updates the plan of care and patient educational needs regarding vascular access. Possesses the ability to complete intravenous insertion and assessment to include peripheral and central line access. Utilizes equipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment and intravenous infusion pumps as appropriate. Demonstrates proper interpretation of department specific policies and related laboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs. Implements, monitors and records patient care and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions to unanticipated changes in patient condition. Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans. Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing No experience required Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use / data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect / recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and / or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting / moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running. Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) And Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State And Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) And Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN) - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Or Anticoagulation Therapy Management Certification - University of Southern Indiana College of Nursing and Health Professions Or Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider (CACP) - National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers (NCBAP) Or Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Or Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Or Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON) - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) - Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation (INCC) Or Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate (ONS / ONCC) - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Or Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (ONS / ONCC) - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Or Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Or INS Fundamentals of Infusion Therapy (FIT) certification - Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Or Vascular Access Certification (VA-BC) - Vascular Access Certification Corporation (VACC) Paid Parental Leave : we offer eligible team members one week of paid parental leave for newborns or newly adopted children (pro-rated based on FTE).
