Job Description Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for the operation of the machines in their area (mill / turn) per requirement and schedules.

Essential Duties

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications
• Operates CNC machines to perform different jobs according to requirement and schedules
• Operates mills (3 Axis, 4 Axis, and 5 Axis)
• Perform adjustments to CNC program or machine offsets to meet all dimensions and quality requirements
• Uses inspection tools (like height gauge, optical comparators, thread gauges, plugs gauges, micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.) to check in-process work for adherence to certain specification and complete written inspection reports
• Accurately complete paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc., according to Company policy, such as First Article Inspection results, job travelers, non-conformance reports, and / or any associated paperwork
• Collect data and follow data collection procedures at the workstation for each operation
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Checks machinery daily to guarantee functionality and safety
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
• Participates in continuous improvement teams and activities
