We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Construction Manager to lead complex, greenfield, brownfield, TI, and renovation projects for Free Standing Emergency Rooms / Urgent Care and other healthcare environments. This role will be responsible for overseeing large-scale healthcare construction projects from initiation through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working within active healthcare environments and a deep understanding of healthcare-specific construction regulations, processes, and challenges.
LOCATION : Multi-state travel required, 50-60%, Remote based Responsibilities
- Manage approximately 5-7 new construction projects nationally by providing project and technical leadership from pre-construction planning to construction process through punch list and successful handoff to Facilities.
- Leads construction management of new projects to include preliminary site visits, General Contractor bid walk, General Contractor selection, permitting, on site construction inspections, and overall project schedule management.
- Prepare and track all required construction and project administration documents and tasks for Director of Construction approval.
- RFP / GC bidding process and negotiation of construction and vendor contracts.
- Provide direction to General Contractor and sub-contractors as needed. Set achievable targets and objectives to successfully complete projects on time, on budget, and with world class quality and craftsmanship.
- Review and recommend for payment processing General Contractor Pay Applications.
- Receive and process all vendor invoices
- Communicate project status to key stakeholders regularly via approved communication channels and standards.
- Provide project site inspections and coordinate Punch Walk with General Contractor; ensure successful completion of any outstanding Punch List items.
- Management of closeout documentation; Certificate of Occupancy, as-built drawings, final lien waivers, warranty information.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree required in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.Detailed knowledge of Healthcare construction industry, terminology, codes, and design disciplines, as well as the strong ability to read, understand, and apply construction standards to construction plan sets.5-10 years Construction Management in the Healthcare sectorWillingness to travel upwards of 50-60% nationally.Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and minimal supervision.Proficient in time, organization, and project management with ability to manage multiple projects at one time.Understanding of construction software platforms.
