Director, IT M&A - Due Diligence, Integration, and Separation
Join KPMG US as a Director to lead comprehensive due diligence, integration, and separation initiatives across IT domains for M&A transactions. This role supports our Strategy Transaction group within the Deal Advisory and Strategy practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee buy‑side and sell‑side IT due‑diligence assessments, identify risks, opportunities, and deliver executive‑level reports with strategic recommendations.
- Direct IT integration and separation initiatives from planning through execution; develop and manage IT current state assessments, entanglement identification, operating model definitions, synergies, day‑1 and post‑close plans.
- Establish and manage program governance frameworks; produce status reporting, risk management, and issue tracking deliverables.
- Collaborate with senior cross‑functional teams to identify IT‑related dependencies and opportunities, ensuring alignment with deal objectives.
- Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies to promote KPMG’s Technology M&A offerings; create compelling value propositions and engage clients to expand practice reach.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Act with integrity and professionalism, upholding KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology / business consulting and / or technology leadership, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex M&A transactions.Master’s degree preferred; at minimum a bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, finance, or related field required.Demonstrated success in at least three of the following : system integration / separation, platform migration, IT architecture modernization, outsourcing of IT operations, or regulatory technology implementation.In-depth knowledge of post‑merger IT integration, carve‑out separation, process reengineering, offshoring strategies, and IT risk and compliance management.Proven ability to lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, with advanced program management skills and comprehensive understanding of enterprise IT ecosystems.Experience developing and executing go‑to‑market strategies and driving business growth in the M&A space, including client relationship management.Willingness and ability to travel as needed.Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment‑based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG does not sponsor visas for this opportunity.Location : Falls Church, VA
