Job descriptionHigh school diploma or GED required Must have at least 1 year experience as a Veterinary Assistant Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!) Description
We are adding a full-time Veterinary Assistant to our team! As a technician-oriented practice, we utilize our nursing staff to their fullest potential- giving you the opportunity to use your hard-earned skills. In addition to our great benefits package, you will enjoy employee discounts and a uniform allowance.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :
- Effective communication with both clients & team
- Safe handling & restraint of animals
- Obtain vitals & medical history
- Venipuncture
- Place intravenous catheters
- Administer medications SQ & IV
- Administer & monitor anesthesia
- Surgical assistance
- Dental prophylaxis
- Bandaging
- Laboratory testing & radiography
