About The Position

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure the medical necessity of hospitalization and treatment in accordance with hospital and third-party payor guidelines.

Facilitate appropriate utilization of hospital resources while collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members to manage care in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Serve as an advocate for patients and families, coordinating and integrating post-hospital services to achieve planned care outcomes.

Act as a liaison between medical staff, departments, patients, families, and community resources to streamline the utilization management and discharge planning process.

Manage discharge planning with a focus on experience in acute care settings and familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and other third-party payor review requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications :

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license (MA license preferred but not required; willing to consider candidates who are eligible to apply for MA licensure).

BSN preferred but not required.

Experience in an acute care setting and discharge planning is essential.

Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and third-party payor review processes.

Utilization review experience is not required.
