Paralegal

Our customer, a Boutique Law Firm, seeks a seeks a high-skilled and motivated Paralegal for a 6-month contract assignment.

This role is 40 hours a week, hybrid, with flexibility, based in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities :

• Document creation and finalization, including preparation of discovery shells, tables and transmittal letters, proofing and cite checking, assembling declarations and exhibits, and filing and service.
• Document management, including assisting with document reviews and productions, searching databases, and pulling and organizing documents for depositions, hearings and trials.
• Case intake and management, including gathering and organizing information from clients, updating clients, creating, and maintaining the case file, and tracking filings;

calendaring experience using Compu law.

Attorney assistance, including scheduling and setting up conference calls and video meetings, communicating with court personnel, assisting with the creation of PowerPoints and other demonstrative aids, and helping prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a Legal Assistant with Hybrid Paralegal skills or comparable experience or expertise in a litigation law firm.
• BA / BS degree, Paralegal Certificate.
• Extensive knowledge of California State and Federal court rules and procedures and e-filing.
• Knowledge of Westlaw, PACER, Microsoft Office Products, Adobe Acrobat, DISCO, Relativity or other eDiscovery platforms and general proficiency to learn various other software applications.
• Strong research skills and ability to manage and prioritize numerous projects in a fast-paced environment.
