Randstad is currently a preferred partner with a reputable Federal Government organisation to recruit for the below role :

Job title : EL1 Assistant Director Finance,

Rate : $602.55 per day + super

Hybrid location : Richmond + Work from home (WFH)

Contract duration : 6 months

About the Team

The organisation’s Budget and Finance Controls Branch is responsible for the financial management of the organisation, and provides insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare government financial statements or conduct audits, with experience preferably within Commonwealth reporting frameworks.
• Demonstrate knowledge of AASB accounting standards and frameworks, as well as PGPA Act reporting requirements.
• Engage stakeholders internally and externally to ensure effective financial management and reporting.
• Produce precise executive briefs and technical accounting position papers to support decision-making processes.
• Actively contribute to business improvement processes and strategies through critical thinking and analysis.
• Lead and collaborate within teams to achieve financial goals and objectives.
• Demonstrate proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Financial Statement Reporting tools.

Key Skills Required :

• Qualified accountant with CA / CPA qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of finance experience, including senior finance leadership roles.
• Australian Citizenship.
• Familiarity with the Department of Finance’s Central Budget Management System (CBMS) is desirable.
• Willing to obtain police check

The ideal candidate should possess substantial and directly applicable experience in the fields of Financial Accounting, encompassing asset accounting and external agency reporting.

Prior experience in Financial Reporting within a Commonwealth Government Environment is highly preferred.
