General Summary :

The Ready Mix Concrete Driver will drive a concrete mixer truck equipped with either a manual or automatic transmission, utilize his / her truck to properly mix the concrete and deliver concrete to assigned job sites. Experience operating specialized equipment including concrete mixer truck, roll off truck, sanitation trucks (garbage or recycle) or other top-heavy equipment is a plus. The individual will be required to display a professional attitude and show respect to customers at all times. The driver will be required to calculate the amount of water required for desired slump. In addition, the incumbent will complete a variety of pre-printed forms. The position receives guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of tasks and projects assigned, the incumbent determines methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments while operating within specific policy guidelines. Good judgment and common sense are required in all duties and any other task assigned. Normal workdays are Monday–Saturday. Hours are determined by customer need. As such, hours will vary greatly, but often include night work, up to sixteen (16) hours per shift. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required.
