Executive Assistant To The Commissioner
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a mission-driven individual with exceptional administrative skills and a proven track record of providing high-level executive support to fill the role of Executive Assistant to the Commissioner. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff, the selected candidate will support the Office of the Commissioner and members of the agency's senior leadership team, possessing well-developed organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to assist with managing a demanding calendar of appointments for the Commissioner. The Executive Assistant is required to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality while working on highly sensitive matters in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will carry out daily administrative tasks outlined in the description below. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, highly proficient with technology, enjoys collaboration, and is efficient independently as well as in a team environment. The Executive Assistant position is integral to the day-to-day operations of the offices of the Commissioner and will be a point of contact for the Executive Team, internal, and external stakeholders.

Minimum Entrance Requirements : Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and / or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions : I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience. II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
