Responsibilities Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes cardiac and respiratory critical care cases Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 Common titratable drips include Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and Precedex RNs are required to titrate critical care drips Monitors and strip interpretations performed by RNs, no monitor techs on unit Ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment in use with 24 / 7 respiratory therapy support Uses MediTech EHR Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM Every other weekend and one major and one minor holiday coverage required RNs may be placed on call for low census, with a 30-minute required response time Floating within contract requirements, with travelers generally floated first Must attend two-unit orientation shifts prior to independence Charge nurse and house supervisor support are available on the unit No nurse aides are present on this unit Dress code requires scrubs in black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki May not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Holidays and weekends are required as part of the schedule First time travelers will be considered Requirements Active OR RN license or Compact license (no pending licenses accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Acute care and critical care nursing skills required Ability to titrate a range of critical care drips Experience with MediTech EHR preferred Copy of valid driver’s license required for consideration Two professional references : one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640818.
