• Certifications Required : BLS (Preferred : ACLS, NRP, STABLE)
• NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT - of L&D Beds : 15 total- 7 L&D, 8 Postpartum - of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections : 1 - of Births per day? Month? Year? : 58 per month - Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? : 1 : 1 for pit, mag, or insulin drips. 1 : 3 couplet care. - Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Mix. Mainly obstetric / neonates, hypertension, GDM, try not to deliver anyone less than 36 weeks - Experience or 'Must have' skills : able to read and interpret fetal strips, critical thinking, follow quality metrics, previous travel experience, must be able to read strips - will float to Medsurg & ER as needed - Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes - Common titratable & / or set rate drips : pitocin, insulin, magnesium - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? : Yes - Does the charge nurse on shift take an assignment? : yes - Are there nurse aids / surgical techs on this unit? Duties? : yes, CNA, vitals, help with transfer paperwork, remain at desk when needed due to being a locked unit, help turn, ambulate patients - OB / Neonatologist in house 24 / 7? : no - Anesthesia in house 24 / 7? : no - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) : yes - Are RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot? : no - Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? : no - Are RNs required to read their own strips? : yes - What brand are the tele monitors? : philips - EFM System : traceview / PIP - EMR : Meditech - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0645-1915, 1845-0715 - Do you allow self-scheduling?
