Job Description :

Oversees the Behavioral Health Services Department staff in the SMI Clinic and helps to foster healthy teamwork within the agency. Provides clinical guidance for SMI patients, dual diagnosis, multiple drug dependency, and provide services to other behavioral health recipients as needed. Provides therapeutic integrated services to Valle del Sol patients.

Job Qualifications :

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Health or related field, with a minimum of one (1) year of behavioral health experience.
  • Must hold an independent-level behavioral health license as approved by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE).
  • Must meet the qualifications for a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), including understanding of symptoms, recovery models, crisis intervention, and community-based treatment approaches.
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive services to diverse populations, including individuals with co-occurring substance use and medical conditions.
  • Strong understanding of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and the ability to formulate accurate diagnoses and individualized treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities, including evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing.
  • Understanding of treatment planning, care coordination, and clinical documentation requirements for individuals enrolled in SMI programs under AHCCCS and Mercy Care.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high-acuity patients who may present with complex clinical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while using crisis prevention, de-escalation, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills, with the ability to develop clear, professional reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, promoting coordinated care across behavioral health, medical, and case management providers.
  • Experience working with families and individuals from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must comply with health and immunization requirements, including :
  • TB screening (PPD, QuantiFERON, or chest X-ray as applicable).
  • Vaccinations / Titer's Test / Declination Form for Flu, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, and Varicella.
