Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

This Android Engineer role sits within the Expedia Group Design System (EGDS) team. Our team is responsible for maintaining and evolving the Expedia Group Design System, working closely with designers and engineering teams across the company to help deliver high-quality, accessible, and consistent UI patterns for our travelers and partners.

In this role, you will :

• Apply your technical Android engineering knowledge to solve user experience problems and advocate for engineering's role in the design lifecycle.
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineers to develop solutions for new and improved user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and optimized code by applying software design principles, data structures, and computer science fundamentals.
• Build new technical expertise in a rapidly evolving environment while helping mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
• Develop prototypes to influence product strategy and advise on technical possibilities and limitations.
• Proactively provide clear updates on work status and coordinate stakeholder input when developing solutions.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $128,000.00 to $179,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
