About The Position
We are seeking an Optometrist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California starting Oct 27, 2025. This opportunity offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, with the possibility of 4-10s and some floating based on assignment needs. The role involves providing comprehensive eye care, including exams, yearly check-ups, and diagnosis and treatment of vision conditions, primarily serving a patient population that is 75 percent Spanish-speaking and 78 percent Medical / Medicaid.

Responsibilities and Duties
Perform comprehensive eye exams and yearly check-upsDiagnose and treat a range of vision conditionsProvide care to a predominantly Spanish-speaking patient base, utilizing translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants as neededServe a patient panel that is primarily Medical / Medicaid insuredAccurately document all patient encounters in Epic EMRCollaborate with clinic staff to ensure quality patient careAdditional Information
Must be licensed to practice optometry in CaliforniaActive California DEA and furnishing license requiredBoard certification in Optometry requiredLocum experience and FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS experience are favorableMinimum one year of recent clinical experience required; candidates with recent gaps in practice will not be consideredBenefits
