Join our operations team as a Senior Factory Service Engineer, working to automate Genome Engineering. You will be a key member of the Factory Service Engineering team responsible for the bring up, maintenance, and problem solving of equipment. Additionally, the role will be responsible for equipment reliability, investigating equipment failures, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training new hires. This role requires a strong attention to detail, and experience working in a GMP environment.

As a Senior Factory Service Engineer, you’ll be frontline support for all production needs. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic interdisciplinary factory environment, supporting stakeholders involved in adapting quickly to change and new technical challenges.  With your help, we’ll keep our symphony of automated instruments humming in tune.

What You'll Do

• You will serve as the point of contact for supporting our lab automation and manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, replace parts, bolster the spare parts inventory, and identify ways to improve equipment reliability.
• Provide detailed symptom descriptions for failures uncovered during functional tests and calibration to assist in component-level troubleshooting.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance and calibration, working with both internal stakeholders in planning and external vendors to ensure no disruptions to the manufacturing schedule.
• Provide the highest quality of service and support to our manufacturing shop floor.
• Create, maintain, and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) as well as conduct training events.
• Continuously optimize processes to improve safety, quality, and reliability.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, tools, certified test equipment, and items related to the Factory Service Engineering team.
