About The Position

Location : Shelby, North Carolina, USA Specialty : MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit Type : Travel Schedule : 3x12s Nights Time : 13 Weeks

Seven Healthcare is excited to offer a rewarding travel nursing opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Intensive Care, based in Shelby, NC. This contract includes a competitive weekly blended rate of $2,125, based on three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Key Responsibilities of the Travel MICU Nurse

  • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
  • Monitor patients' condition, vital signs, and intravenous lines, and initiate appropriate interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs
  • Administer medications, monitor responses, and effectively manage any adverse reactions
  • Utilize advanced life support equipment and techniques, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and hemodynamic monitoring devices
  • Handle complex procedures, such as central line placements, arterial lines, and mechanical ventilation
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using electronic medical records systems
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment options, follow-up care, and self-management techniques
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during stressful times
  • Adhere to all hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control measures
  • Requirements of the Travel MICU Nurse

  • Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and other relevant critical care certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in an ICU setting
