Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
Job Description :
Under the supervision of the Women's Basketball Head Coach, the Women's Basketball Assistant Coach helps direct and provide leadership for the women's basketball program operating under NCAA Division II and conference operating bylaws and regulations.
Expectations include, but are not limited to :
- Assist with all aspects of the women's basketball program; provide opportunities that challenge and support student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Support student-athlete academic and athletic excellence, leadership development, and community engagement.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Gulf South Conference and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletics program.
- Assist in team development, including establishing goals, objectives, and values for the program consistent with the mission of the Athletics Department.
- Assist in motivating student-athletes to perform to maximum levels.
- Assist with the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the training; unit to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition.
- Utilize sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices.
- Recruit student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations through on-campus and off-campus recruiting activities.
- Supporting the vision of the CBU Athletics Department; helping develop and implement a marketing strategy to enhance the brand and tell the stories of CBU Athletics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position.
- Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
- Must pass the NCAA-required coaches training, have or obtain AED / CPR certification, and be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Five (5) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specific to this position.
