As an engineering manager in Marketing Technology, you will lead a team focused on delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions that support Starbucks' modern marketing initiatives. You'll bring clarity to complex challenges, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and drive meaningful business and customer outcomes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement engineering solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Resolve technical challenges and guide teams through the application of sound engineering principles.
- Analyze business initiatives using data-driven logic to assess operational and financial impact.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with business and technology partners.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support development teams by removing blockers and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Ensure application and infrastructure solutions are secure, stable, and compliant with company standards.
- Champion secure development practices and adherence to industry standards.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in software development.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.Proven ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Content Management and Digital Asset Management platforms, especially Adobe AEM.5+ years managing medium to large-scale projects and leading cross-functional teams.5+ years coding in modern object-oriented or functional programming languages.Proven track record of delivering large-scale distributed systems.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, PCI, Data Protection).Experience managing high-capacity, mission-critical environments.As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge / skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
