Job Title
Skilled work at the journeyman level involving both rough and finished electrical work, troubleshooting electrical motor failures and electric circuitry preventative maintenance.

This position is an Essential classification and will require you to report to duty before, during and after a civil emergency.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and / or experience Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Graduation from an accepted trade school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma required. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in electrical construction, installation, repairs and maintenance at the Journeyman level required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Possession of valid driver's license and maintenance of clean driving record required with the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license within 30 days from date if hire. Possession of a Journeyman's Level Electrician License required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, codes and practice of the electrical trade, as well as electric circuitry involving motors, breakers, relays, etc. Tool Proficiency : Skill in the use of various tools, techniques and equipment in the electrical trade. The ability to identify and solve electrical problems effectively. The ability to interpret and understand electrical blueprints. A solid understanding of electrical theory, systems, and components is crucial. Ability to plan, lay out and perform electrical work of average difficulty. Ability to work from blueprints and / or sketches. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public. Attention to Detail : Crucial for ensuring safety and accuracy. Ability to focus on the positive in every situation. Ability to model respect for individuals, teams, and the organization. Ability to stay centered when challenged. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to follow through with assigned tasks.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Steel-toe or composite shoes are mandatory.
