About The Position

Experience : 1 year of clinical operating room experience desired

License : Current certification in surgical technology

Certifications : BLS from American Heart Association, Surgical Technologist Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

Must-Have : CVOR experience

Description :

To provide safe care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with professional and hospital standards.

Constant interaction with internal and external customers, including patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors.

Assists in the coordination of patient care by aiding in planning and collaborating with healthcare team members.

Participates in performance improvement activities.

Acts in the role of support during the surgical procedure, but not as a surgical assistant.

Implements patient care by maintaining asepsis and performing scrubbing duties.

Communicates patient information to the appropriate persons and accounts for all equipment and supplies used in patient care.

Communicates effectively with peers, healthcare team members, patients, and visitors.

Maintains adaptability and supports teamwork within the department and units.

Resolves problems and consistently meets customer service quality standards.

Performs clinical preceptor role for scrubbing and collaborates with coordinators and educators.

Maintains cleanliness in the unit and ensures proper use and care of equipment during surgical cases.

Performs additional job duties and responsibilities as required.

Knowledge of organizational policies and safety hazards to provide patient care and establish a safe work environment.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Limited access to medication rooms; medications should not be handled.

Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving patients, with intermittent lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Frequent use of hand dexterity, reaching, and twisting is required.

Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue is typical in this environment.

May face moderate to high noise levels and the risk of exposure to communicable diseases.

Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours and may be required to take calls or work weekends and holidays.
