Job Summary
Assist Diesel instructors with lab duties. Identify and correct safety issues. Assist with lab set-up and technical issues.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

4. Move, lift, arrange, and store heavy parts as needed. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications Must have basic mechanical skills / background.
Forklift Certified or Certifiable.
Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, diesel engines and drive systems Preferred Qualifications Enrolled or graduated from the SLCC Diesel Program.
Demonstrated communication skills with email and Microsoft Office Products
Background in diesel or automotive repairs.
Knowledge of fasteners, torques, and hand tools.
Lifting up to 50 lbs., moving, organizing, and cleaning skills.
Class A or B driver’s license with air brake endorsement. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Can work with minimal supervision.
Good people skills.
Ability to work and include all people in conversations and work with respect to all knowledge and ability levels. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, abilities, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

It is essential that the candidate know the position requires similar physical demands as that of a working tradesman including lifting heavy items, working on and under equipment, assisting the class with instruction as required, and setting up and putting away instructional aides up to and including trucks and other heavy-duty equipment.
