Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Surgical Step Down unit, providing specialized care to postoperative patients in a dynamic academic medical center environment. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care during night shifts to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention.

Qualifications
~ Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program
~ Licensure : Active New York State RN license; Current BLS certification (or willing to recertify)
~ Experience : Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an acute care facility
~ Technical Skills : EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
~ Soft Skills : Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
~ Monitor and assess postoperative patients requiring intermediate care
~ Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
~ Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
~ Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation
~ Provide patient and family education
~ Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
