What You'll Do : Provide customer service to clients at the shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations. Respond to incidents and critical situations within the shelter environment in a calm, problem-solving manner. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or unusual behavior. Monitor entry points and common areas to help to deter prohibited items, loitering, or other unwanted activity. Document and report any incidents, observations, and / or hazards according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols. Maintain a visible presence and interact professionally with residents, visitors, and staff to promote a secure environment. Assist with access control by verifying credentials and / or escorting visitors as needed. Minimum Requirements : Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. X-ray screening experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
