Electrical Project Engineer - Substation

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will have opportunities to :

• Serve as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead, coordinating and providing expertise for assigned substation projects.
• Support a range of substation projects up to 765kV, including detailed design and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables such as protective relay specifications, panel layouts, one-line / single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC / DC schematics, and relay / equipment wiring for high voltage substations.
• Create physical design deliverables, including substation yard layouts, grounding systems, lightning protection, control building layouts, and auxiliary AC / DC power systems.
• Perform or oversee quality reviews of electrical substation design packages.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications and bills of materials for procurement and construction.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Present proposals, designs, and project-related activities as needed.
• Travel to client and vendor offices or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification as required.
• Manage design budgets and schedules.
• Support business development and project pursuit activities.

This position is based at our World Headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas (Kansas City area).
