• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
• 3x12 or 4x12 shift options available with 36 or 48 hour contracts
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Every other weekend required
• Float within scope to meet facility needs
• Work in 5S Trauma Stepdown unit (IMC / PCU) with multidisciplinary team approach
• Provide nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients
• Patient ratios : Floor RN 1 : 5, Stepdown Unit 1 : 3
• 2 years RN experience required with 1 year in-specialty experience
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU / Trauma
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, Fit Test, CPI (can complete with Qualivis), TNCC preferred
• WV or Compact RN license required
• Skills required : IV starts, ventilators, telemetry, Level 1 trauma experience, conscious sedation
• Work with specialized equipment including chest tubes, wound vacs, tracheostomy, feeding tubes
• Manage critical drips : amiodarone, cardizem, precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, nitro
• Handle epidurals and arterial lines
• Scrub color : Royal Blue / White
• Use Cerner charting system
• 16 hours of orientation
• Orientation starts every other Thursday
• Complete non-billable modules (2-4 hours) prior to start
• Limit holiday requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays Facility : This Level 1 Trauma Center is a major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) with 855 total staffed beds. The facility provides short-term acute care services with comprehensive trauma capabilities. The 5S unit features 37 beds including 25 floor beds, 6 stepdown beds, and 6 pediatric beds, offering intermediate care for trauma and surgical patients. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
