Project Specialist
The Project Specialist oversees vendor partner relationships and driving successful execution of merchandising and corporate initiatives. This role manages the end-to-end process for vendor engagementdefine project scopes, finalize timelines, secure approvals, and ensure seamless execution in alignment with Family Dollar's operational standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining store-centric excellence by ensuring that all third-party merchandising services are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to store operations and customer experience.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
- Lead project planning and execution for merchandising initiatives using standardized project management methodologies and tools.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with merchandise suppliers and service providers, fostering accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Category Managers and cross-functional teams to define and validate project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and proactively address risks or delays ensuring on time completion.
- Coordinate SOW approvals from all required stakeholders prior to implementation.
- Ensure operational readiness by confirming that all supporting materials are aligned with project timelines.
- Track and report project performance, including hours worked, rebate volumes, completion rates, and issue resolution metrics; analyze data for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate clear, consistent communication across departmentsproviding regular updates, executive summaries, and escalation support as needed.
- Oversee invoice accuracy and payment processing, coordinating with internal billing and alerting stakeholders to outstanding payments or discrepancies.
- Provide post-implementation support, ensuring adherence to project standards and managing ad-hoc initiatives as assigned.
- Champion customer service excellence, ensuring all initiatives reflect Family Dollar's store-centric values and operational integrity.
