Job Overview
The International Senior Accountant will be a key member of our accounting and finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing international accounting functions. This role involves managing local service providers, preparing subsidiary financial statements and ensuring compliance with both local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and tax laws, and owning the intercompany journal entries and related accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of multi-currency transactions and intercompany accounting, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and service providers worldwide. This role will be an instrumental part of creating and maintaining the policies and procedures needed to scale our organization.
This is a full-time role, reporting to our Corporate Controller, based in our office in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for day-to-day operations and close processes for multiple subsidiaries, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement variance analysis and monthly internal and external financial reporting
- Manage end to end processes, ensuring proper transactional accounting as well as system solutioning to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with ERP implementation and adoption
- Ensure adherence to international accounting standards, local regulations, and tax laws
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks in global operations
- Coordinate with external auditors and local service providers to facilitate timely and accurate audits
- Oversee multi-currency accounting processes, including foreign exchange transactions and intercompany reconciliations
- Monitor transfer pricing for compliance with arm's length standard
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is preferredMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in international accounting or a related roleProven expertise in international accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) and multi-currency accounting practicesNetsuite experience (preferred) or other accounting ERPs experienceSolid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), practices and proceduresAbility to read, understand, and interpret financial documents and contractsAbility to think outside the box and be nimbleDeadline driven and an ability to prioritize tasksMS Office / Google Workspace skillsAbility to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle confidential matters with discretionAbility to solve problems as they ariseBenefits
