Job description

Job Summary :

Ewing Bros Inc. is looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of over 90 vehicles, including light to heavy-duty tow trucks, heavy equipment, and company automobiles. This is a hands-on role working in a DOT-regulated environment to ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of all fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct routine inspections and safety checks in compliance with DOT standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete all work orders in tracking systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with the Fleet Manager based on operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and provide own tools.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience as a fleet or diesel mechanic (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and electronics.
  • Familiarity with DOT inspection standards and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and meet hard deadlines.
  • Must provide personal hand tools relevant to the trade.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
