Licensed Practical Nurse

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse, RN, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic medical attention to assigned patients (adolescents and / or adults), continually assessing the physical, social, and emotional needs of patients.

This is a Fulltime, 36 hours a week position (12 Hour Shifts- 7 : 00pm-7 : 30am or 7 : 00am-7 : 30pm).

Essential Job Responsibilities :

• Promotes a warm and welcoming environment when paired with newly hired RNs, providing training, guidance, and support that is consistent with patient care, safety standards, and policy and procedure. Responds to questions in a respectful manner. Reports concerns promptly when identified.
• Acts as back-up point of contact for direction of other unit staff members when Charge is unavailable
• Provides leadership to other personnel in crisis behavioral management
• Utilizing the nursing process, the RN develops an initial nursing treatment plan for each admitted patient.
• Competent in assessing, planning, and delivering care for patients with co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, and trauma backgrounds.
• Directs and participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with discharge planning and works with patient at time of discharge.
• Provides leadership to other personnel in crisis behavioral management.
