About the Position
As a Temporary Mail Clerk, you would assist in facilitating the election process by using the mail-opening machinery to ensure all mail is opened, moved, and processed.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Utilizes electronic mail opening machinery to open ballots in bulk prior to ballot processingStands for a long period while utilizing electronic mail opening machinery to open ballots in bulk prior to ballot processingPushes and pulls 150-pound ballot crates into the ballot processing staging area or secured ballot vaultAssists other divisions of Elections with their daily functions and activities, along with other job duties as assignedWorking Conditions
Full-time / Temporary / Overtime / Holiday hours are mandatory during the election cycleRequires the ability to stand for extended periodsRequires upper extremity repetitive motion and pivoting a minimum of 7 poundsRequires the ability to review small fonts on hard copy or computer screenMust be able to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of 7 pounds and carry for 450 feetRequires the ability to push / pull a minimum of 150 pounds for 450 feetMay be required to work outdoors in high temperaturesMust not engage in any political discussionSelection Procedure
