Job description

Summary : Our client, a leading specialty insurance provider with a collaborative and growth-oriented culture, is seeking an experienced E&S Brokerage Renewal Underwriting Specialist to join their dynamic Brokerage Casualty division. This role is critical in driving new business growth, targeting $3M+ in annual new business across diverse industry segments. The ideal candidate will be a true generalist with expertise in General Liability and Property lines, working primarily from our client's offices in Arizona or Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain a robust new business strategy targeting $3M+ in annual premium across various industry segments including daycares, limited risk occupations (LROs), contractors, and other commercial markets
  • Underwrite General Liability and Property insurance products for non-admitted small and medium-sized commercial businesses
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with wholesale general agents, including major wholesalers
  • Analyze and evaluate complex risk profiles to determine appropriate coverage and pricing
  • Prepare comprehensive underwriting submissions and renewal documentation
  • Conduct periodic broker visits (approximately 1x / month in the West territory) to strengthen partnerships and understand market trends
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless policy processing and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and strategies
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in the company's underwriting systems

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of E&S Brokerage underwriting experience, with a focus on GL and Property lines
  • Proven track record of new business development and meeting / exceeding premium growth targets
  • Strong understanding of non-admitted insurance markets and complex risk assessment
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Property and Casualty insurance license in applicable state
  • Professional insurance designations (CPCU, AU, ARe) preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
