Job Summary :

The Engineer will be responsible for ensuring oversight and management of all engineering requirements and resources to support our operation in shell and tube heat exchangers for petrochemical, refining and gas processing industries. Responsibilities will include problem solving, innovation and decisions in driving the business forward. The Engineer will be able to answer key technical engineering questions for projects, train engineering employees, and work with various other departments to support the engineering requirements for customer project needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Create and maintain standard work and documentation for heat exchanger design
  • Ensure engineering processes, procedures, and associated documentation are created and maintained in support of shell and tube heat exchangers and related components
  • Perform thermal, structural and mechanical analysis to verify safety, performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, sales, etc.
  • Ensure designs meet ASME, TEMA, API and other relevant codes and specifications
  • Contribute to new product development and productivity improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and sustainability
  • Ensure projects meet International, and State code requirements
  • Review project proposals and provide technical engineering guidance to customers
  • Coordinate with customer and project teams to ensure compliance with approved construction plans and customer standards
  • Additional duties as required

Required Education and Competencies :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Thermal Engineering
  • Master’s degree and / or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus
  • At least 5 years of of experience in heat exchanger design preferably in HVAC, petrochemical or power sectors
  • Proficiency in structural / ASME pressure vessel design and design software including Compress, MathCAD, ANSIS and AutoCAD tools
  • Proficiency with thermal design software (HTRI, Aspen, etc.) and mechanical design tools is
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and pressure vessel design
  • Sound understanding of ASME codes and industry standards like TEMA and API
  • Superior analytical, math and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing team, collaborating with coworkers, Executive Management, and customers
  • Ability to review engineering calculations and implement upgrades and enhancements to increase efficiency and product quality
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Required Travel : Approximately 10%
