Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT) to provide essential patient care and comfort under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This role supports infant (0-1 year), pediatric emergency (1-13 years), and adult (14+ years) patient populations in a dynamic healthcare environment located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled work environment.
- Deliver comfort measures and assist with patients' daily needs, including meal assistance.
- Record and communicate vital signs and observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake / output to supervisors.
- Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Prepare formula in the NICU department when required.
Qualifications
ACT : Preferably 3-6 months of prior experience in an acute care setting.ACT-Float : Preferably 1 year of acute care experience.NICU Department : Minimum 2 years as a Certified Nurse Assistant with strong pediatric experience preferred.Basic computer proficiency is required.Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English is essential.Familiarity with electronic charting is a plus.Education
Must hold one or more of the following upon hire :Current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification.
Licensed Vocational Nurse license.Military Corpsman experience.Nursing student who has completed fundamentals including initial assessment and vital signs.Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer is required for specific departments.Maintain at least 10 continuing education hours annually related to the role.All candidates must successfully pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background check prior to employment.
