Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud and AI Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and ethical AI solutions that empower public sector and enterprise modernization initiatives. This position requires deep expertise in both cloud computing and artificial intelligence to enhance organizational efficiency, improve citizen engagement, and drive data-informed decision-making — while maintaining the highest standards of security, compliance, and transparency.
The Senior Cloud and AI Architect will provide architectural leadership across multiple projects, guiding teams in the design and deployment of cloud-based AI / ML systems. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with communication and mentoring skills, ensuring technology solutions align with strategic mission objectives and industry best practices.
Core Qualifications
10+ years of total professional IT / software development experience.
5+ years of enterprise-level, full life-cycle architecture experience.
5–8 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and modernizing applications in AWS environments.
Proven ability to architect and implement secure, scalable AI / ML solutions leveraging cloud or hybrid infrastructures.
Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
Experience developing solutions architecture and evaluating alternatives across private, public, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Strong understanding of AI frameworks and tools (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Ability to design and enforce ethical and compliant AI solutions, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following :
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline.
OR at least 5 years of progressive experience in solution architecture, application design, and development using AWS / Public Cloud and AI / ML platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification (Azure or GCP).
Experience working with state and local government clients.
Proven enterprise-wide integration experience across cloud and AI solutions.
Familiarity with generative AI (GenAI), chatbots, and LLM deployment in public sector environments.
Understanding of public sector compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST AI RMF, NIST 800-53).
Experience implementing AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible AI frameworks.
Previous involvement in federal, state, or municipal digital transformation initiatives.
