JOB DESCRIPTION
The IT VMO & Cloud Analyst is a member of the IT Vendor Management Office and is responsible for Cloud vendors for client and will be responsible for a combination of IT performance, cloud usage, and billing.
The IT Vendor Management Analyst must understand contractual, commercial, and operational working relationships with vendors across a variety of Cloud planforms to ensure effective usage of committed resources, services, and solutions.
JOB DUTIES
- Align Cloud provider services with the strategic direction, mission, and vision of the vendor management office (VMO).
- Coordinate meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders - including IT, launch operations, business resources, sourcing, and procurement - keep meeting minutes.
- Provide assistance to IT and Launch Operations teams to optimize the cost-effectiveness of cloud agreements to ensure compliance of negotiated agreements to established policies and practices.
- Coordinate with asset management resources to assist in the management and tracking of cloud-based entitlements.
- Track key engagement milestones (expirations, renewals), measure and report on cloud vendor performance and manage the delivery of performance feedback to vendors.
- Segment and rationalize the cloud portfolio so that appropriate focus can be applied to the most strategically important vendor engagements.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of vendor spend by category (software, hardware, telecom, staff augmentation, services).
- Coordinate the communication process with vendors with direction from IT VMO Leader, to ensure that appropriate leverage is preserved.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Must have experience in information technology (IT) - including experience with a wide spectrum of technologies including data center, network, applications, services, etc.
Will not consider candidates without technology experience.
Experience with SAP
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Exposure to managing Cloud contracts including, but not limited to, policies, performance, relationships, issue, and dispute resolution.
- Experience with IT standards such as ITIL is desired.
- Knowledge of the IT industry and the products and services provided by cloud vendors.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirements (ITAR, FAR-12), desired.
- Some knowledge of contract management and negotiation.
- Understanding of the vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.
- Solid grasp of financial concepts, such as depreciation schedules, capitalization, return on investment, and total cost of ownership.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing to business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and external parties.
- Thorough understanding of commercial terms (warranties, intellectual property, indemnification) in IT agreements.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Requires a bachelor's degree and 2-6 years of experience.
- 1-4 years of directly related experience and relevant professional certifications may be used to satisfy the bachelor's degree requirement.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
