Description : Position Overview :
The Campus Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the daily operations of the Upper School, Northrop campus. The Campus Lead is responsible for facility maintenance and repair work to ensure a safe environment for students, staff and visitors. This position is also responsible for developing and supervising equitable work plans for their direct reports and coordinating the work schedule of all full- and part-time employees to ensure proper school coverage. This position reports to the Director of Buildings & Grounds.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Foster an attitude of support for all school-wide and community activities that take place on the Northrop campus in Minneapolis
- Under minimal supervision, develop and assist with inspecting, planning and implementing a building maintenance program. Perform daily equipment and building maintenance in accordance with submitted and assigned service requests. Follow all applicable safety procedures when completing work assignments in accordance with OSHA and other relevant safety guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and secure setting for students, staff and guests. Report any concerns or violations to the Director of Buildings & Grounds
- Ensure building coverage is provided during planned or unexpected absences of staff
- Identify small cap improvements projects and determine material and methods for the jobs; inspect for quality and progress to ensure work is being performed with an emphasis on safety; communicate with the Director of Buildings & Grounds all labor and materials utilized.
- Submit purchase requisitions for supplies and materials; coordinate and maintain adequate inventory of tools, equipment, hardware and materials; assist building & grounds personnel with building inspections and maintenance operations reviews; notify the Director of Building & Grounds of safety and building integrity concerns.
- Coordinate access to spaces to minimize disruption to operations. Receive and deliver equipment and supplies as required. May be called upon to discuss and participate in installations, repairs, new construction and other routine and event-related projects.
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled carpentry including but not limited to demolition and rough construction; roof repairs, drywall and plaster; metal work; masonry, concrete, block and brickwork; resilient and hard surface flooring; repair / replace doors and windows; cabinet, lock and hardware repair; plastic laminate work; suspended ceilings and insulation, painting and other surface treatments. Maintain a basic knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems as they relate to the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings.

This salary range includes the expected annual salary for this position. In making a salary determination, we consider professional experience, applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on these factors, a candidate's salary offer could exceed this range.
