Lead Critical Care and Emergency Nursing at a Leading Healthcare Institution
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to take on the role of Director of Nursing for the ICU / Emergency Room at our partner hospital.
This pivotal leadership position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of critical care and emergency nursing, cultivating a high-performing team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities :
Leadership and Management : Provide comprehensive leadership and management of the ICU / Emergency Room nursing teams, encompassing clinical, financial, and human resources aspects.
Nursing Practice : Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing practices that adhere to the nursing process and align with the hospital's mission and values.
Clinical Excellence : Exhibit exceptional technical skills, critical thinking abilities, initiative, integrity, accuracy, and compassion in the delivery of high-quality nursing care within an interdisciplinary team.
Emergency Preparedness : Oversee and direct Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response planning and preparation for the hospital, ensuring readiness for any contingency.
Departmental Oversight : Supervise all department functions, including staff development, evaluation, and the maintenance of efficient patient care unit operations.
Collaboration : Foster teamwork among departments and contribute to the provision of safe, high-quality nursing care.
Role Model : Serve as a role model for professional nursing practice and behavior, promoting care that respects patient dignity and continuously strives to enhance the patient experience.
Quality Improvement : Actively support quality improvement, education, and research initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and advance nursing practices.
Fiscal Responsibility : Demonstrate expertise in motivating the nursing team while ensuring care delivery is fiscally responsible.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Required : Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Nursing.
Preferred : Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (must be started within 6 months and completed within 2 years of starting the program).
Experience :
Required : 5+ years of hospital clinical experience and 2-3 years of management / leadership experience.
Certifications :
Required : Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
Preferred : Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
