Position Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to become the Head Coach for its Cheer and Spirit programs.

The Head Coach / Spirit Squad Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the UNM cheer, spirit, and mascot programs.

• These responsibilities include : implementation of cheerleading / spirit routines at Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and other events as assigned;
• oversight of cheer / spirit's annual recruitment efforts' collaboration with the UNM marching band to implement game day routines;
• travel to away Football and tournament basketball environments to oversee spirit program members; oversight of the UNM Spirit operating budget;

and overall fundraising for the UNM Cheer / Spirit program.

• Employees in this job title are subject to the terms and conditions of an employment contract.Employment contracts are typically subject to review and renewal on an annual basis.
• Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position.
• Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree;minimum directly related experience requirement is determined by the VP for Athletics.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
