Job Description / Responsibilities
Successful, on-time delivery of NBD is critical to delivering Sazerac's growth plans. This role will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of new and contract manufactured products. This includes responsibility for development of improved cross functional routines (i.e. Stage Gate) in partnership with the Commercial organization. This role will also lead NBD plant / line assignment, manufacturing cost analysis and build plant-level NBD execution routines.
- Utilize PDS system and available resources to identify areas for continuous self-improvement. Regularly dedicate time to growing the skills outlined in the Development Plan. For direct reports, conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress.
- Provide mentorship, training and opportunity for the individuals in the department to grow within Sazerac based on their career development plan. Knows the career goals and plans for the team and works to develop and retain key successors in the organization.
- Develop and own NBD Stage Gate process. Maintain a prioritized list of new initiatives and ensure projects are communicated and managed in order to achieve target ship dates and volumes. Engage cross-functional teams in building timelines, identify risks and critical milestones. Ensure on time delivery of tasks, communicate and resolve risk.
- Partner with Commercial team to prioritize and execute innovation projects that will deliver Sazerac growth targets.
- Establish well organized priorities for yourself. For projects and tasks this role manages, ensure the project team is comprised of the right team members, they understand their roles, updates are posted, and priorities are successfully completed. Ensure that progress is made on priorities and projects and that the level of Informing is appropriate
- Ensure NBD process is optimized, documented and that all stakeholders are trained / understand the process and their role(s).
- Own the Operations Supply Chain Assessment process. Lead footprint and plant / line assignment for NBD, manufacturing cost analysis and build plant-level NBD execution routines.
- Work cross-functionally to identify, prioritize and execute cost savings projects that will not impact the quality of our products or service.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to the end-to-end NBD process and improving performance (on-time, right the first time). Determines root cause of process failures and puts necessary corrective actions in place.
- Ensure delivery of NBD projects on-time and right the first time. Monitor and measure NBD project health. Course correct where needed.
