Job descriptionWork in a hospital setting within the Med / Surg and Telemetry units, decompressing ED and various specialty areas Unit options include 6CD ADTU (19 beds) and multiple satellite units ranging from 7-12 beds each Care for adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, GI bleeds, and trauma-related injuries Typical patient ratios range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6, with some variation due to acuity or surge staffing Shift is 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, with hours from 1900-0700 Every other weekend rotation required Required to float within region and scope of practice, potentially to multiple regional facilities No on-call or call-back responsibilities Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays EMR system is Epic; experience preferred Specialized equipment used includes telemetry monitors (Phillips), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing Nurses are responsible for direct telemetry monitoring and interpretation each shift Work collaboratively with CNAs, secretaries, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV / VAT teams, resource nurses, RT, hospitalists, and intensivists Unit culture is described as family-oriented and supportive Travelers are required to wear navy blue scrubs Free parking is provided Orientation includes NEO and two days of departmental training Up to 6 days of time off can be approved (excluding holidays), with the possibility to add time to the contract if needed First-time travelers will be considered, but prior travel experience is preferred Active NC or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele RN experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, manage IVs and medication gtts, perform trach care, PIV starts, chest tube and drain management, NGT placement, and foley care Must live at least 50 miles from the facility Epic EMR experience preferred High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
