At EY, we're all in to shape your future with confidence. We'll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

EY Private Tax is a growing practice within EY, and you'll see that growth reflected in your career. The team has a dedicated focus toward serving privately held companies and their owners and their families. These clients span from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. One thing they all have in common is they are high growth private companies. With a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging work, you'll make an impact on some of the most technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects around. You'll be part of a growing global team, acting as a key point of contact for a wide range of clients and colleagues. This is an opportunity for cross-border and cross-functional teaming. In return, you can expect plenty of support designed with your own personal skills and experience. EY is a dynamic place to develop not only your technical tax knowledge, but also your professional leadership and business acumen.

Your key responsibilities will include managing various responsibilities, from technical planning and advising of clients that include high-profile individuals and their families. You'll personally coach and develop a highly trained team, all while handling activities with a focus on quality and commercial value. This includes researching tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies, translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables, building effective long-term relationships with our clients, communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients, maintaining your reputation in your field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and finest practice knowledge, reviewing work of more junior team members, and identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve our services and processes.

To qualify for the role, you must have a bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax, business or financial planning experience, have obtained or have active progress towards a CPA certification or membership in The Bar, minimum of 2 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization, experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation, experience with flow through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLC's), a thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems, and experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment is also required. Ideally, you'll also have a proven record in a professional services environment, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, the ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members, excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds. A commitment to continuing your learning is also important.

We're interested in tax professionals with a genuine interest in providing outstanding services to some of the world's most influential people. Working with people from all backgrounds, you'll use your experience and status as a trusted advisor to maintain and further our reputation for excellence. At EY, we'll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences. We'll empower you in a flexible environment, and fuel you and your extraordinary talents in a diverse and inclusive culture of globally connected teams. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter / Summer breaks, Personal / Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.

EY focuses on high-ethical standards and integrity among its employees and expects all candidates to demonstrate these qualities. EY is building a better working world by creating new value for clients, people, society and the planet, while building trust in capital markets. Enabled by data, AI and advanced technology, EY teams help clients shape the future with confidence and develop answers for the most pressing issues of today and tomorrow. EY provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity / expression, pregnancy, genetic information, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, or any other legally protected basis.
