This position will report on-site Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. Travel : Position serves all Parks within a Park Area which may require driving to multiple locations and traveling in several types of weather conditions.

The anchor for all things park related, the AA2 is the hub for daily operations from purchasing, to accounts payable, to data collection and reporting, to seasonal staff onboarding, and beyond. No two days are alike, and it is the AA2 that provides continuity and stability both to guests and to the team. Working in a park environment surrounded by nature offers incredible health benefits. This position can be housed at either Beacon Rock State Park or at Battle Ground State Park and will cover administrative operations for the Battle Ground Area. This area is situated in the protected national scenic area of the Columbia River Gorge. Mountain, river, and wildland views are plentiful and easily accessible, as are hiking and equestrian trails. Adding to the charm is the headquarters office, a quaint, historic stone cottage built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1933.

Duties
Under general supervision, this position provides support and oversight of daily administrative operations for the Battle Ground Area, supportive services to staff within the Park Area, and is the principle administrative assistant to the Park Area Manager. This position acts as the Park Area expert in the areas of customer service, financial compliance and oversight, administrative management; serves as the point of contact for the Park Area in coordinating efforts with Region and Headquarters staff and is delegated authority to act for the Area Manager within defined program areas. Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Assists with managing Area Managers calendar as well as maintenance of other calendars and scheduling of routine park activities and functions.
- Assists manager with the development and monitoring of budget information by evaluating budget reports and providing information to the manager as well as budget detail to area staff.
- Assists manager with confidential correspondence and sensitive paperwork.
- Functions as the hub for administrative communication for the area during regular business hours ensuring that mail and email are processed, phones are answered, and other inquiries are responded to.
- Responsible for providing, managing, and coordinating customer service for the park area.
- Responsible for scheduling and training booth staff in use of the reservation system (CAMIS) as well as resolving CAMIS problems, use of proper shift controls, and reconciliation of fiscal information within the system.
- Serves as the Point of Contact with headquarters and region staff and responsible for day-to-day administrative operations for the park Area in the areas of Human Resources, Payroll, IT Services, Operations staff, etc. and coordinates processes, resolves issues, and fulfills Park Area needs.
- Responsible for revenue and expenditure processing and oversight for the Park Area.
- Acts as the purchasing expert for the Park Area for ordering, processing purchase payments, working with vendors and resolving purchasing and procurement issues.
- Responsible for inventory management to include routine ordering of supplies, equipment retail merchandise, and park publications.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
Four (4) years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.Or
Associate degree AND two (2) years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.AND
One (1) year of work experience using Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.This position requires the legal ability to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Washington. Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver's license at the time of appointment and maintain it as a condition of employment.Desired Qualifications :
Knowledge of state government, rules, and regulations.Experience with handling financial data which requires mathematical calculations.Experience providing direct customer service.Knowledge of State Parks' rules and regulations.Core Competencies :
