About The Position

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

Profession : Radiologic Technologist

Duration : 17 Weeks

Shift : 3p-3a every other weekend

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 1 year

License : Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Certifications : BLS, ARRT - CT

Description :

Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.

May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.

Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination.

Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations.

Obtains additional information about patient medical history as necessary.

Prepares procedure room and replenishes supplies such as linen and related materials.

Analyzes anatomical structure of patient and sets up equipment for the CT scan.

Manually controls equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information.

Administers intravenous contrast media including the use of power injectors.

Monitors patients for possible reactions and provides immediate care if necessary.

May prepare and set up sterile equipment and monitor supplies required for the procedure.

Ensures that adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.

Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.

Demonstrates principles of radiation protection.

Resolves image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery.

Completes all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.

Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with relevant personnel before performing studies.

Demonstrates team member standards of excellence including open communication and positive attitude.

Performs all necessary documentation in the medical record and radiology information system.

May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.

May be potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized.

May be exposed to potentially contagious patients.

Occasionally may lift or move equipment and / or patients that exceed 10 lbs.
