JOB ROLE SUMMARY

As the Director of Preconstruction & Estimating , you will lead the development, implementation, and execution of VCC’s nationwide preconstruction and estimating strategy. You will be responsible for building and leading a centralized team to support our eight office locations across the country.

This role is both strategic and client-facing —you’ll oversee internal estimating and planning processes while engaging directly with clients, design teams, and key project stakeholders to guide early-phase decisions and ensure alignment with budgets, schedules, and expectations.

You will manage preconstruction planning, bid scheduling, and estimating standards for all project types including retail, multifamily, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

This is a safety sensitive position.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Build and lead a centralized preconstruction and estimating department that supports all eight VCC offices nationwide

Preconstruction Management

Oversee the full preconstruction process—from conceptual budgeting through final GMP / hard bid estimates

Client Engagement & Strategy

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase

Estimating Oversight

Supervise the preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates

Subcontractor & Market Engagement

Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners across all regions
