Job description

Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City, Arkansas has an immediate opening for a Mental Health Technician / Youth Care Worker!

This is a great entry-level position in psychology / behavioral health!

Our Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following :

  • Care for our patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
  • Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
  • Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
  • Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with daily living skills.
  • Provide a safe, clean and therapeutic environment. - Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate.
  • Training will be provided.

Qualifications for the Mental Health Technician should include the following :

  • Education : High School Degree or equivalent is required.
  • It is preferred to have educational or work experience in psychology, human service, nursing, or social work environments.

    • Experience :

  • At least one (1) year of related experience in a assisted living, residential, or hospital setting.
  • Psychiatric experience preferred or (1) year experience as a Corpsman in the Military.

    • Schedule :

  • If working full time, must be able to work a rotation of 4 days on / 2 days off.

    • Hours will be Days :

  • 7 : 00 am-3 : 00pm, Evening : 3 : 00pm-11 : 00pm,  Overnight : 11 : 00 pm-7 : 00 am .  Physical :   Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, push and pull to perform restraints.
  • Minimum Age  - Must be at least 21 years of age.
