Sr. Staff Accountant

Overview

Under supervision of the Senior Director – Tax / Finance & Corporate Controller, this supporting role performs various accounting functions and will be a key contributor to the company's accounting and reporting activities. These activities include cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, treasury activities, external reporting and insurance.

KVH is currently using a hybrid work schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote after initial training is complete. Schedule will change to 4 days onsite and 1-day remote starting January 1, 2026

Responsibilities

• Participate in the effective analysis and oversight of revenue, cost of goods sold and inventory balances including several of the company's most important ledger accounts.
• Prepare annual overhead rate analysis, BOM updates and standard cost rolls.
• Contribute to the month-end close process through GL analysis, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Collaborate in the financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to internal SOX narratives and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Responsible for management of corporate insurance programs.
• Support the global treasury function by preparing periodic cash forecasts, serving as the company's CashPro administrator and updating account documentation as required.
• Participate in the preparation and submission of all SEC financial reporting filings.
• Assist in operational improvement and / or accounting projects supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Offer general support to finance management team.
