Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

Location : Lisle Campus
Position Summary : This position is responsible for the development, conduct and overallsupervision of the Men’s Lacrosse Program.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
1. Developa detailed recruitment plan that will allow the program to be in a position ofcompetitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
Inform prospects of University academicprograms, talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, and emailexchanges.
Actively monitoring the complete recruitment process, on campus andoff campus through in person contacts. Work effectively with the Director ofAthletics and Office of Enrollment Services to satisfy roster size, recruitmentand retention outcomes.
2. Fosteran atmosphere of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletic Conferencethrough sport specific athlete development.
Attend, plan, develop, and directall team training and conditioning activities in the traditional andnontraditional segment.
3. Assist with the retention of student athletes through socialand academic counseling; interaction with University retention team andcoaching staff.
Retention of student-athletes, along with support of StudentAthlete Services, by effectively coordinating and communicating attendance toall SOAR and department sponsored events.
4. Create aculture of excellence throughout the student athlete experience. Develop aculture of trust through mentorship and social development.
Communicateexpectations, praise and corrective feedback in a clear and constructivemanner. Maintain positive student athlete assessments for program from studentathletes.
5. Responsiblefor planning, development and direction of operating and fundraising budgetwithin University and departmental procedures.
Attendance at specifieddepartment fundraising events. Assist in the planning of team specific alumnievents, as well as developing new opportunities through alumni networks.
Workeffectively with the Director of Athletics to satisfy philanthropic and revenuegeneration outcomes.
Other Functions :
- Adherence to all Benedictine University and Division of Student Engagement policies and procedures. Work independently and creatively within established guidelines, while at the same time functioning as a member of a team.
- Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
- Strong leadership, administrative, planning and presentation skills, including oral and written communications
- Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate program needs, serve on University committees as needed.
- Maintain high level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to attain goals through knowledge of regulation and accreditation requirements, as well as incorporate best practices into initiatives.
- Ability to create a culture of collaboration with all campus constituents.
- Experience working in the areas of inclusion, diversity, equity and / or access.
- Employs sound project management practices, methodologies, and principles to accomplish work.
- Proven ability to organize information; assess, utilize and navigate online platforms; and conduct detailed data analysis and develop reports based on data.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations and matters with diplomacy and superior judgement.
- Ability to complete high-level analysis of data.
- Demonstrated analytical, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
Experience : Previous collegiate coaching preferred.
Specific Skills : Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules andregulations.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications : Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Valid Driver’s License required. CPRcertification is preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping.
Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun / heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
General Customer service and office environment.

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable) : Yes- Oversee assistant coaching staff
Working Conditions : Indoor and outdoor environment. Nights and weekendsrequired.
Training : As a University employee you are requiredto complete all University-specific and / or OSHA related training to fulfillyour job duties.
Specific training will be conducted online or inperson. Employees must complete all trainings required byBenedictine University.
